Measuring Your Door for the Perfect Fit

Grab your tape measure because size matters when it comes to smart locks. The Eufy Smart Lock Touch is designed to fit doors with a thickness of 1-3/8″ to 2-1/8″. Measure twice, install once!

Preparing the Door for Installation

Now, let’s ensure your door’s surface is clean and flat. If you have an existing deadbolt, you’ll need to remove it. Don’t worry; it’s a simple task that paves the way for your new tech-savvy lock.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Now that you’re all set, let’s walk through the installation process. It’s easier than you might think, and before you know it, you’ll be enjoying the convenience and security of your new Eufy Smart Lock Touch. First check your door to see if the deadbolt needs adjustment (if basket is 60 mm, no adjustment od deadbolt is needed, if 70mm adjust the lenght of the deadbolt: by holding it rotate the faceplate for 180 degrees clockwise, so the deadbolt will extend, as shown on pic.) Next, align and center the deadbolt (deadbolt slot should be in center of the basket) and fix it with two screws.

Next, check if latch hole is round or rectangular align and center the deadbolt (deadbolt slot should be in center of the basket) and fix it with two screws. If round follow Diagram A, if rectangular follow Diagram B. Fix with two screws deadbolt in position (“TOP” mark on deadbolt should be in top position).

Mounting the Exterior Assembly

Check the cross bore on your door, if it is 38mm, you will not need the spacer on the back of the external assembly so rotate slightly to reliese and remove it. Align the backside of exterior assembly deadbolt: slide the cable bellow the deadbolt and lead the tailpiece thru the slot on the deadbolt.

Now fix with two screws the strike plate.

Setting Up the Interior Assembly

Next, it’s time to connect the interior assembly. This part is crucial because it’s the control center of your smart lock. Remove the mounting plate from the back of the inner assembly and align it with the tail piece on the door, run the cable thru it and use the screws to fix the mounting plate (do not tight to much in case you need to make slight adjustments later when you test the travel of the deadbolt) to the exterior assembly on other side of the door.

Now attach the cable to the slot on the backside of the inner assambly. Make sure all the cables are connected properly. A snug fit here means a smooth operation later.

It’s time to fix the interior assembly to the mounting plate. Prior make sure all wires are tucked safely on interior assembly, thumbturn is in vertical position and deadbolt is retracted.

Connect by sliding, the tail piece and shaft of the thumbturn. Check if by turning of the thumbturn, deadbolt travel smoothly to locking and unlocking position. If ok, fix the inner assembly to the mounting plate.

Batteries or battery pack

Now, insert the batteries (Eufy C220) that will power your lock, total of 8 pcs AA size batteries. They should last for months, but it’s good to know that your lock will alert you when the power is running low. This thoughtful design ensures you’re never locked out due to a dead battery.

Installing battery pack for Eufy S230

All mentioned above regarding the installation procedure of the Eufy C220 lock, goes also for the installation of Eufy S230, with one slight difference, Eufy S230 uses rechargeable battery pack instead of individual alkaline batteries. Here are instructions for Eufy S230 battery use.

Please note the position of the pin on the battery pack so you could insert the pack correctly.`

Testing the Lock Before Finalizing Installation

Before you call it a day, it’s important to test the lock. Enter a test code on the keypad or use the fingerprint recognition to ensure everything is working as it should. If the bolt slides smoothly and the lock responds to your commands, you’re all set. If not, recheck your connections and try again. Patience here means perfection later.
